Out with the old, In with the new

Hi All,

As we reflect on what was in 2015 and hope for what is to be in 2016, let's not forget to be thankful. I think most of all, we should be thankful for being here and now.....the gift of life.

Some may think but 2015 was really hard and I barely survived while others may think 2015 was my year, I hammered more than I could ever imagine. Whatever your story, the fact that you're alive means there's still hope; a chance to restrategize, a chance to try again and a chance to forge ahead.

I heard of 2 young people that died during the course of the year, both 26 years old. Though very sad, it seems they led good lives and left their marks on this world. People die everyday but not everyone makes an impact even in death. So being alive today is an opportunity to make amends and start living a purposeful life.

Consider all you are and have, consider your ways and decide to be better in 2016. Live each day like its your last i.e. live life without regrets. Do what you've always wanted to do, live life to the fullest but consider others and lastly, act in a way that your God will be pleased with you. Make the most of all the new year brings your way. Like someone said on instagram, "If life gives you pepper, make pepper soup". Funny but true, look for a way to turn situations around for your good.

May we all WIN in 2016!!!

Happy New Year ycrbw

Stay blessed!!

Better late....

Hi All,

I go by the name (pseudonym) Lilybet and I'm going to be sharing my mind with y'all.

I will share my thoughts on Nigeria, life, relationships, God, my favourite things, reviews and end with a quote for the day.

I should have started this years ago but didn't have enough courage to. Given the type of year 2015 was, I was forced to reflect on my life and things that really matter and how to fulfil them. I had been writing for years - but never shared them with anyone.

Being an INTJ, my mind is constantly churning, trying to connect the dots and solve problems. I find that by writing out my thoughts, I get clarity on the way forward and feel confident that there's light at the end of the tunnel.

During the course of the year, I stumbled on many great quotes and write ups that motivated me and brought me out of a funk I didn't know I was in. A great one was the DO IT AFRAID post by Omilola Oshikoya on BellaNaija (read it here: http://www.bellanaija.com/2014/06/14/omilola-oshiokoya-do-it-afraid/).

The summary of my 2015 is that my life changed without knowing or planning it and now I surprise myself. The goal for 2016 is to arrive at and operate within my Sweet Spot. God help me!!!

The quote for today is by Paul Martinelli and it sums up my new approach to life: Do it afraid, jump and build your wings on the way down”.

Stay blessed!
