Here we are..

Wow, it's been over 6 years I last visited here, it is 4pm here in Nigeria on the 26th July 2022. A lot has happened, changed and Here We Are. Grateful to still be alive, may not be where I hoped to be right now, but as the saying goes, "Where there's life, there's hope - Eccl 9:4" so I stay grateful and hopeful as I forge ahead.

Reading through some of my unpublished posts, I cant help but feel sorry for Nigeria. The decay and ruin I warned about are here now. She has gotten to a state we never imagined (still worsening btw) and we are now making a run for it. No one is still ready to make a change and do what's right and necessary to save Nigeria. Those contesting for political positions are still in it for themselves and their bellies, what a shame and a waste!

No one is interested in the wellbeing of the citizens. Some years back, many returned to Nigeria to help move the country forward through the private sector (think: "The men who built America") but one critical factor was missing, an enabling environment provided by the government. Many efforts went down the drain, investments lost, lives and sanity lost and Here We Are...... Everyone is now running away. Oh well, we made our bed, we must lie in it.

Enough about Nigeria cos thinking about the impact on our lives and the future of our children is heartbreaking and depressing to say the least. As many love to retort, "It is well", "God help Nigeria", but we all know those are empty words when we did not first help ourselves. I back that up with the bible verse in James 2:26 "Faith without works is dead".

Like Steve Hawkins said in this quote above, Where there's life, there's hope because you DO something.

Stay blessed!!
